On the evening of December 12, 2018, Baltimore City firefighters were alerted for a reported building fire at the intersection of Park Heights Avenue and Seven Mile Lane (Fire Box 46-84), with mutual aid from Baltimore County Fire Department Engine 2 also alerted from the nearby Pikesville career fire station. Upon arrival, BCoFD Engine 2 firefighters found smoke showing from a large multi-story dwelling on one of the city's predominantly Jewish neighborhoods. Firefighters made an aggressive interior attack on the fire, which was traveling through the walls and void spaces of the building, which was used by the Lev Shlomo program. The fire was contained within an hour, however the building sustained significant damage to the interior. BCFD firefighters were able to save several religious items from the building, and brought them outside to waiting members of the Jewish community, who in turn brought the items to a Hatzalah ambulance for safeguarding. BCFD's Fire Investigation Bureau was called to the scene, as it is believed the fire was possibly intentionally set.
