Shortly after 130 pm on Sunday afternoon April 24th, 2022, Baltimore County westside fire units were alerted for Fire Box 46-20, reporting a house was on fire in the area of 9430 Lyons Mills Road in Owings Mills (Fire Box 46-20). While units were enroute, the officer on Liberty Road Volunteer Fire Company Engine 461 requested a Working Fire assignment from several blocks away due to the intensity of heavy black smoke and multiple calls to 911. First-arriving fire department units reported a fully involved vacant house was on fire with extension to a fence, shed and several trees, and collapse of the structure, located across from Lyons Mill Elementary School at the intersection of Lyons Mill Road and Coyle Road. Firefighters used multiple handlines and an aerial stream from Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company’s Tower 323 to extinguish the deep-seated fire and were on the scene for several hours.
