Baltimore County Police Department Officer 1st Class Jason Schneider was laid to rest Saturday, August 31 in a Fallen Heroes ceremony at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens. Officer Schneider was killed in the early morning hours of August 28 when his BCoPD Tactical Unit was serving a search warrant in a Catonsville, MD house and came under fire from a suspect inside. Officer Schneider was the ninth BCoPD officer killed in the line of duty in the history of the agency. More than 1,200 family, friends and police officers from across Maryland and neighboring states attended the line of duty (LODD) funeral at St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church in Manchester, MD and his burial at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens in Timonium. The procession from the Carroll County church to the Baltimore County cemetery stretched for miles and included more than 100 marked and unmarked police vehicles from dozens of agencies.

Guestbook for BCoPD LODD Funeral - Officer Jason Schneider
Barbara A. Ziezio (Utica, New York)(non-registered)
I am in tears as I viewed the pictures and videos of Officer Jason Schneider's funeral. I am in tears as the mom of two police officers wondering if her sons will be next. I am in tears as I hear of another fallen hero because I feel as if I lost a son or a daughter. God bless this fallen hero, Officer Schneider, his family, friends and his extended family of all fellow officers and may God keep his brothers and sisters safe as they continue his watch.
