Shortly after 11:30 p.m. June 25, Baltimore County fire units were dispatched to Fire Box 46-3 for a reported fire in the roof area of a garden-style apartment building on Noyes Circle in Randallstown. While units were enroute, Fire Dispatch advised that Baltimore County Police were on the scene with heavy fire showing. Units from Liberty Road Volunteer Fire Company were first arriving and confirmed a working fire at the address of 9610 Southall Road, and command quickly upgraded to a second alarm. Crews used multiple handlines and ladder pipes in an aggressive attack to knock down the fire within 45 minutes. More than a dozen apartment units were destroyed, with 30 people needing assistance from the Red Cross.
