Shortly after 2 a.m. July 27, 2012, Baltimore County westside units were alerted for a reported apartment fire in the 3600 block of Yennar Lane in Randallstown. Units from Station 18 arrived with fire through the roof of a 3-story garden style apartment building and firefighters made an aggressive attack with handlines, a deck gun and ladder pipe. Due to the heavy volume of fire, a 2nd alarm was struck bringing additional resources to the scene. One firefighter sustained non life-threatening injuries when part of a ceiling fell on him during fireground operations. The fire's cause and origin is under investigation by Baltimore County fire investigators. The American Red Cross was called to the scene to assist several displaced residents.
