Three Baltimore County Fire Department firefighters were injured battling a two-alarm rowhouse fire on Christmas night (Fire Box 13-14) 2008 in Westview. Firefighters were called to a home on Granville Road in Edmundson Heights shortly before 10:30 p.m. and found nothing evident upon arrival. Crews soon reported smoke inside the middle-of-the-row dwelling, and found smoke in the basement of the attached homes. Firefighters located a basement fire and advanced a hoseline into the front of the house, with an additional line in the rear. While firefighters were attacking the fire and performing searches, a "mayday" was called for several members who were reported down inside the home. Fellow firefighters quickly rescued the injured members and brought them outside to waiting medic crews. The injured firefighters were transported to area hospitals with what are believed to be non life-threatening injuries. The American Red Cross responded to the scene to assist with displaced residents.
