Around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, September 14, Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company Squad 322 responded with other Baltimore County,MD units to a reported motor vehicle accident with entrapment on the inner loop of Interstate 695 between exits 22 & 23A. BCoFD Engine 14 (Brooklandville career) and BCoFD Division Chief 1 arrived to find a two-car MVA, with one vehicle in the travel lanes and the other on its roof on the slow shoulder. Crews confirmed one patient was heavily trapped in the overturned vehicle, and the driver of the other vehicle was a trauma patient. Lutherville VFC Squad 303 and BCoFD Truck 1 (Towson) also responded, and crews from stations 1 ,14, 30, and 32 worked together on extricating the patient, using Squad 303's crane boom to stabilize the overturned Ford Mustang. The Mustang's driver was flown via Maryland State Police Trooper 1 to Baltimore's Shock Trauma Center, and the other driver was transported via ambulance to Sinai Trauma.
