Shortly after 330 pm on Saturday, May 4th, 2019, Baltimore County Fire Department Engine 14, Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company Medic 325 and Baltimore City Fire Department Engine 44 were alerted for a reported vehicle crash in the northbound lanes of Interstate 83 near Old Pimlico Road, north of the City/County line. While units were enroute, additional callers to 911 reported people were trapped and a rescue assignment (Rescue Box 99-80) was dispatched. On arrival, Engine 14 confirmed a two-vehicle crash with three people trapped in one car, with all travel lanes blocked. Firefighters from Baltimore County Fire Department Truck 1 and Baltimore City Fire Department Truck 25 worked together to extricate all patients. All 5 injuries were transported to area hospitals, including two patients to area trauma centers.
