Soon to be seen flying in the Maryland sky, the next generation of Maryland State Police helicopters was dedicated at the agency’s Aviation Command headquarters at Martin State Airport on October 5. Maryland contracted with AgustaWestland for 10 AW139 helicopters, the first of which, bearing registration #N381MD, was on static display at the dedication. Also attending the ceremony were representatives from Howard County Police, Prince George’s County Police, Delaware State Police, United States Park Police and New Jersey State Police, all of whom “flew in” to the dedication. NJSP troopers flew one of their AgustaWestland helicopters to Maryland for the event.
