Garrison, MD - May 27, 2010 - Shortly after 11:30 p.m., during intense heavy rains and thunderstorms, Baltimore County (MD) Fire Department units were dispatched to 22 Pellinore Court for a reported apartment fire. First-due Engine 19 was on another call, and as Engine 2 approached the scene along Reisterstown Road heavy fire was visible in the sky, and Engine 2's officer immediately called for a 2nd alarm. Crews arrived to find heavy fire blowing through the roof of a 2-story duplex residential building, and engines laid multiple hoselines while Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company Tower 323 set up for aerial water operations. After more than an hour of battling the flames, firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control. The American Red Cross was requested to the scene to assist more than a dozen people displaced by the fire.
