Just before 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 11, Baltimore County westside fire units were alerted for a report of a house on fire in the 3000 block of Byfield Road in the Lochearn section of Pikesville (Fire Box 2-24). Multiple callers to 911 were reporting the back of a house was on fire, and first-arriving BCoFD Engine 2 reported heavy fire and smoke showing and laid a line. Next arriving BCoFD Engine 3 laid a second line and firefighters initiated an aggressive attack. The fire destroyed the rear deck and canopy and extended into at least one room in the house and is under investigation by the Baltimore County Police Department's Arson Team.
