Around 1230 a.m. Friday August 31, Baltimore County Fire Department Engine & Medic 17 were alerted for an MVA involving several vehicles, possibly with fire, in front of Frankel Acura near the intersection of York and Warren roads in Timonium. Dispatch quickly upgraded the call to a firebox based on incoming telephone calls, and BC1 David Murphy reported a Working Fire upon his arrival. Involved in the incident were an 18-wheel tractor trailer making a delivery for the car dealership, an SUV, and several used cars in the dealer's lot. Units were faced with heavy fire and burning diesel fuel running into the storm drains, so Chief Murphy requested a HazMat Box and the Maryland Dept. of the Environment to the scene. Firefighters used foam to knock down the fire, and crews were faced with significant overhaul as they had to remove the burning merchandise from the trailer. The truck's driver reported he was attempting to make a wide turn into the lot when the SUV, traveling in the right lane, struck the cab, causing the cab to ignite. Both drivers escaped without injury.
