Towson, MD - February 27, 2012 - Shortly after 1 p.m. Baltimore County Fire Department First Battalion units were alerted for an apartment fire reported in the 700 block of Morningside Drive off Joppa Road in Towson (Fire Box 1-36). BCoFD Engine 1 arrived with heavy fire showing from a single-story 25 x 60 building that was attached to a 3-story apartment building. Crews made an aggressive attack and held the fire to the original building. The American Red Cross was requested for several adults and children who were displaced. Firefighters from Station 1 in Towson as well as 11 (Hillendale), 14 (Brooklandville), 17 (Texas), 29 (Providence volunteers), and 30 (Lutherville volunteers) were on the scene.
