Around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday May 1, 2007, Baltimore County, MD dispatch alerted firefighetrs for an automobile accident with reported entrapment on Interstate 795 Northbound between Exits 4 (Owings Mills Blvd.) and 7 (Franklin Blvd.) in Owings Mills. First arriving BCoFD Engine 56 (Franklin career station) advised a 2-vehicle MVA with one patient confirmed trapped, and minutes later requested a Maryland State Police medevac helicopter. Arriving crews from Owings Mills Volunteers (Engine 311 and Truck 313) and Pikesville Volunteers (Squad 322) assisted with patient extrication, removing the roof to allow access to the driver. The patient was flown via MSP Trooper 1 to Shock Trauma. It was reported he was traveling at a high rate of speed when he struck an SUV whch was disabled on the highway. Also on the scene were BCoFD Medics 19 & 56, EMS 5, and BC22.
