Owings Mills, MD - February 8, 2008 - Around 4:30 a.m. Sunday, February 8, units in northwest Baltimore County, MD responded to Reisterstown Road and Pleasant Hills Road for an MVA with fire and the driver pinned inside the car. Firefighters from stations 19 (BCoFD Garrison career), 31 (Owings Mills volunteers), 41 (Reisterstown volunteers), 18 (BCoFD Randallstown career,and 40 (Glyndon volunteers) worked together to knock down the fire and extricate the driver, the only person inside. Command requested a Maryland State Police helicopter and Engine 56 (BCoFD Franklin career) handled the landing zone at Owings Mills Elementary School. The patient sustained traumatic injuries resulting from the MVA but no burns and was medevaced by Trooper 1 as a Priority 1 to Shock Trauma.
