Shortly before 1:30pm on Saturday, November 9, Baltimore City firefighters were alerted for Box Alarm 40-70, reporting a dwelling fire at 3919 Maine Avenue in the city's Northwest area. First arriving units reported heavy fire showing from side Alpha of a 2-story single family house. The call was quickly upgraded to a Working Fire with a request for two additional engines, and firefighters had to use exterior operations. As units encountered water problems and a significant part of the house collapsed, a 2nd alarm was requested and ladder pipes were put in service from Truck 12 and Truck 27.
