On Tuesday, July 16, 2019, Larry Goldberg, a Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company Life Member and former Captain and active Battalion Chief with Baltimore City Fire Department (BC 4 – D Shift) was laid to rest at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens (Fallen Heroes section) following a service at Sol Levinson Funeral Home. Also an instructor with the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute for over 25 years. Chief Goldberg passed away on July 11 following a valiant fight with cancer. Through his students and young firefighters with PVFC, BCFD and MFRI, Larry made left an incredible mark on the fire service across Maryland that will be remembered for decades to come. Larry was honored with the PVFC Firefighter of the Year Award this year, and was also presented with the J. Donald Mooney Training Award from the Baltimore County Volunteer Firemen’s Association, in recognition of his countless efforts and hours to training and instruction over his career. Rest easy Chief.

Lori Annual Blue Mass for Maryland First Responders on September 29, 2019 at St. Casimir Church. O'Donnell St. & Kenwood Ave at the 9:45 a.m. Mass. All Faiths are invited to attend and honor Chief Goldberg for his years of service to both the Baltimore City Fire Department and the Pikesville Volunteer Fire department. Let honor all our First Rsponders who serves Maryland Federal, State , Counties and Cities in daily protecting us.
