Just before 630pm on Tuesday, February 3rd, Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company Tower 323 responded with other units to a fire in the company's first-due district at the Yeshivas Toras Simcha building on Sudbrook Lane. Baltimore County Engine 2 was initially alerted for a fire alarm sounding, additional calls reported a fire on the roof and a fire box assignment was dispatched. Engine 2 arrived, confirmed fire on the roof and deployed hoselines. Tower 323 was directed to the rear of the building to deploy its aerial to allow firefighters to access the fire. Firefighters from Tower 323 and BCoFD Engine and Truck 18 were able to extinguish a gas-fed fire in a rooftop HVAC unit and prevent extension into the building.
