Shortly after 2:30 pm on Saturday, March 9, 2019, Baltimore City Fire Communications struck box 5-71 reporting a building fire at the corner of South Broadway and East Pratt Street in the Fells Point neighborhood. BCFD Truck 3 arrived first and reported heavy smoke showing from a 3-story vacant commercial building. The incident was quickly upgraded to a Working Fire and command ordered exterior operations, with a 2nd alarm struck about 10 minutes after units arrived. Fire was in the vacant Rumba Bar located at 1654 E Pratt St and is under investigation by BCFD's Fire Investigation Bureau.
