Shortly before 11 p.m. Monday, December 27, Baltimore County westside units were dispatched for a reported house fire at 8622 Dovedale Road in Randallstown (Fire Box 18-2). While units were responding, calls to 911 indicated someone might still be inside the residence and Baltimore County Fire Dispatch upgraded the call to a Fire Rescue box. First arriving BCoD Truck 18 (Randallstown career) advised heavy fire in the rear of the house, and incoming engines laid several lines from area hydrants. Firefighters immediately forced entry into the house and began a search, which was negative. Firefighters battled heavy smoke conditions and for a brief time were forced to fight the fire from the outside (defensive) and command requested a Working Fire Dispatch. Six adults and an infant were displaced and are being assisted by the American Red Cross. The BCoFD Fire Investigation Division is investigating the cause of the fire.
