As members of the Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company were wrapping up their second annual Golf Tournament at Suburban Country Club on the afternoon of Monday, July 16, Squad 322 was alerted to respond with other Baltimore County westside units to a reported auto accident with entrapment in the northbound travel lanes of Interstate 795 between Exits 4 & 7 (Rescue Box 31-50). BCoFD Engine 56 (Franklin career) was the first arriving FD unit and advised they had a multiple vehicle crash with one patient trapped. BCoFD Truck 18 (Randallstown career) arrived and began extricating the victim, who was trapped in a workvan that sustained significant front-end damage. Upon their arrival, Squad 322's crew pulled several Holmatro tools and assisted Truck 18's crew with extrication. The patient was flown via Maryland State Police Trooper 1 medevac helicopter but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries at Shock Trauma.
