Shortly after 1 pm on September 1, 2015, Baltimore County Fire Department units were dispatched to the intersection of Belair Rd & Taylor Ave in the Overlea-Fullerton area of for a reported motor vehicle collision with injuries. While units were en route, the call was upgraded to a Rescue Box after reports that people were trapped in one vehicle. Upon arrival, units found a vehicle had struck a brick retaining wall and two occupants were trapped. Truck 8 (Fullerton) & Squad 523 (Middle River Ambulance Volunteer Rescue Squad) extricated the two victims who both were suffering serious injuries. Command requested two Maryland State Police medevac helicopters for patient transport, however one of the victim's injuries proved to be extremely grave and the victim was transported by ground to an area hospital. The other victim was transported via MSP medevac to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.
