Around 10:30 p.m. Monday evening July 9, units in Baltimiore County's First Battalion were dispatched for a motor vehicle crash in the 11000 block of Greenspring Avenue in the Chestnut Ridge area (originally dispatched as Box 14-4 and later updated to 50-15). Just after initial dispatch, additional information was received that a person was possibly trapped and a rescue box was dispatched. Engine 501 (Chestnut Ridge VFC) was first to arrive and reported a vehicle off the road, into a tree with one patient heavily entrapped. Units from Stations 14 (Brooklandville career), 17 (Texas career) , and 30 (Lutherville VFC) arrived and crews worked for nearly 30 minutes to extricate the driver, who sustained critical injuries and was flown via Maryland State Police medevac to Shock Trauma.
