Not long after clearing a working rescue Wednesday night Dec. 12, Pikesville VFC was again alerted for a call in their first due. Tower 323 and Squad 322 responded with other westside units to Fire Box 2-1 for a reported fire at Ruth’s Chris Steak House on Hooks Lane near Reisterstown Road. First arriving Tower 323 found nothing evident in the front of the building, but patrons and staff were quickly evacuating the structure. BCoFD Engine 2 reported smoke showing from Side Charlie and crews began searching for the fire, which was located in an electrical panel in the basement of the restaurant. Tower 323’s crew knocked the fire with CO extinguishers, and command requested a response from Baltimore Gas and Electric (BGE) to assist. Tower 323 also laddered the roof, and Squad 322 assisted with evacuating smoke from the structure, scene lighting, and roof access.
