A beautiful, touching, inspiring 9-11 memorial was recently dedicated in Nassau County, NY (Long Island) in memory of emergency service workers & civillians who were residents of the county & perished on that fateful day. It is truly touching, with plaques dedicated to the WTC, Pentagon & Shanksville, PA. There are also 10 plaques listing each of the victims, alphabetically by their hometown. The victims included: 247 civilians 76 FDNY members 10 NYPD members 5 Port Authority PD members 3 Port Authority civilian employees 2 NY State Supereme Court workers 1 Office of Emergency management 1 NY Presbyterian Hospital (EMT) I'll post a few pics of the memorial -- admittedly I had a few tears in my eyes as I shot.... There is also another memorial in Eisenhower Park dedicated to the Nassau County volunteers who lost their lives on 9-11-01 (last few photos).
